Adventures in EFT by Silvia Hartmann Ph.D.
with Forward by Gary Craig, Founder of EFT

Adventures in EFT has been a bestseller since 1999. It remains the most comprehensive yet easy-to-read introductory text on EFT. But what exactly does it cover and how does it manage to appeal both to beginners and advanced users alike?

The book begins with an easy yet thorough tutorial in EFT - a perfect starting point for the complete beginner. The remainder of the book is devoted to answering the most common question that beginners have when learning EFT - which is "The problem I have is X - how do I apply EFT to that?". As Silvia says:
"
Beginners in EFT are sometimes astonished at the sheer simplicity of the actual EFT protocol and can’t yet conceive of all the things you can DO with it."

The largest section of the book, "A-Z of EFT Applications", covers no fewer than 45 different uses for EFT including some of the more common problems like Addictions, Bereavement, Children, Money, Sex, Smoking, Sport and Weight. Intriguingly though, Silvia doesn't stop there. Drawing on her years of practitioner experience with thousands of clients, she writes about some much less obvious ways of using EFT. For my money it is the sections on such subjects as Conflict, Dreams, Past Lives, Pets, Problem Solving and Spirituality, to pick just a few, which makes this book a bit special. These are the non-obvious applications which show us Silvia's true range - a level of experience and creativity which goes well beyond the applications you might learn about even on a practitioner level training. And it's this which makes this book a valuable long term resource even for advanced users. (

It's a book you can read cover to cover - but its detailed contents listing and bite-sized sections means it's also something you can use as a handy reference when you're looking for inspiration on how to apply EFT to a particular problem. I still refer to it now - fully 5 years after learning EFT and being an active EFT practitioner.
As more and more EFT books get written, I fully expect Adventures in EFT to remain the seminal work in this area. And for less than the price of many fiction paperbacks, this one is really a no-brainer for anyone wanting to learn more about EFT.

I recommend the ebook format if you are buying for yourself - you'll get automatic updates and free replacements if you lose your copy - and being able to search the PDF document is invaluable when you're looking for something in particular.
The softcover is recommended if you really can't stand ebooks or if you want to get someone else interested in EFT - it's great as a gift or simply for leaving lying around to pique someone's interest!

Overall rating:   Hard to fault
